If you’d like to learn more about the history of Bethel University…
• The History Center is the archive for Bethel and its denomination, Converge. You can explore its collections on ArchivesSpace, make a research appointment with archivist Rebekah Lopez, and follow its social media feeds at Instagram and Facebook.
• The Bethel Digital Library makes available a wide array of historical resources, including photographs, videos, and digitized copies of the student newspaper, academic catalog, yearbook, and denominational magazine.
• The digital library also lets you read earlier histories of Bethel, including the 125th anniversary booklet by G. William Carlson and Diana Magnuson and their Bethel chapter in a denominational history focused on the second half of the 20th century.
• Bethel at War, Chris Gehrz’s first attempt at a digital history of Bethel, was published online in 2014, the 100th anniversary of both the start of World War I and Bethel’s final move to St. Paul, MN. Chris wrote the sections on the two world wars, while his student Fletcher Warren covered Vietnam and the War on Terror.
